JEAS Submission Guidelines


The Journal of East Asian Studies (JEAS ) is an international and interdisciplinary journal that publishes social science research on current issues in the East Asian region. Theoretical, empirical, comparative, and historical articles are welcome, as are contributions from a wide range of disciplines, including political science, sociology, economics, and anthropology. JEAS invites comments on the articles it publishes with the objective of stimulating scholarly debate. The journal also publishes book reviews and welcomes proposals for special issues from potential guest editors.

 

General Guidelines
JEAS invites original contributions which meet the journal's aims and scope. Manuscripts may be in the form of regular articles (approximately 10,000 words), review essays or commentaries (3,000 words), or book reviews (1,000 words). Authors should retain a copy of their manuscript and submit either four double-spaced hard copies or an electronic version (such as an e-mail attachment in Microsoft Word) to:  Journal of East Asian Studies, East Asia Institute, #909 Sampoong Building, 310-68 Euljiro 4-ga, Jung-gu, Seoul 100-849, South Korea. The journal accepts a manuscript on the understanding that its content is original and that it has not been accepted for publication or review elsewhere. Once accepted for publication, copyright resides with the journal. Rejected manuscripts will not be returned.
