ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Anne V. Adams is director of the W.E.B. DuBois Memorial Centre for Pan-African Culture in Ghana. A former president of the African Literature Association, her research and publications focus on gender in African/Diaspora literatures. Esi Sutherland-Addy, Efua Sutherland's eldest daughter, is senior research fellow and head of the Language, Literature, and Drama Section of the Institute of African Studies and associate director of the African Humanities Institute Programme at the University of Ghana. She is coeditor of Women Writing Africa: West Africa and the Sahel.
